My photography, posing and editing skills improved so much because of all the opportunities that arose! Thanks to all my customers for supporting my business and my friends and family for your ongoing cheers and encouragement. I feel extremely blesses to be immersed full time in my passion. It was only when I refused to compromise, created a vision and followed up on it while setting my fears aside that life allowed me to thrive from my passion. While many seek out prosperity, they do not believe that it is possible to feel fulfilled by what you do at the same time. But isn't it better the accumulate what nurtures your heart and soul and live simply? I believe if you do this and focus on happiness and believe in your powers of attraction, then eventually, prosperity can not escape from you. I wish you the courage to embrace all of your craziest dreams for 2016! Love, Lili. Here are some of 2015's best! Lately, I'm obsessed with making newborn headbands out of upcycled t-shirts and vintage lace. Does it show? And my newest compulsion? Yes Crowns!..Oh boy, does it ever end? Props are important to Newborn photography. Although you can bring your own accessories and props to a session if you wish to make it more personal, I offer a large quantity of these. I am always shopping for new ones or even making them myself or re-hauling them. Here is my ever growing collection of baby wraps, hats, headbands, blankets and furs. These are my artist palette, my inspiration....Every piece in the studio has a particular story and is waiting to make new ones with your family! Don't hesitate to let us know which piece you feel particularly attracted to or to bring your own. Props are great but I also believe they are not everything. A picture with a naked baby and a white blanket is one of my favorite set up... The pieces I choose are usually organic and able to showcase baby without dominating the picture. I am more interested in the magic your angel carries than anything else, but I am equipped and ready for anything! Here is where the magic happens! Look at the beautiful light I have flowing from my double window panels...Everything is set up so that it is an arm stretch away & for baby's comfort. When the light fails I am equipped with great back up light softboxes that do an incredible job! On the left side of the studio, I am set up for family/maternity sessions (with seamless paper rolls that pull down from the ceiling and lightboxes) so that I can switch from one to the other in the same session without having to change my set up completely. Welcome! Hope to see you soon! This is just a small part of the props I own...This does not include the entirety of my growing newborn collection, my toddler or my maternity props....Featured in the the photos above are some quilts (I am obsessed with finding these!), wool fluffs (whole or in large knits), handmade angora bonnets, knitted by a local artist, animal hats, diaper covers and a few crowns. All at your disposition! Presently working on needle felting little animal friends! Can't wait to show you :) Here is my last flea market score i got this past August... Ohhhh, I can't tell you how excited I was that day! One of my best collect to date and already got a lot of use!
Had fun designing a few timeline covers for my Facebook page and had I more time, I'd spend all day on this, it's kind of fun! But now I can not decide which one is my favorite...Which is yours?
Here is Mila, she is about 5 weeks old here. Her parents, Brooke and Mat, had just gotten engaged the same day. What a way to celebrate! I feel so lucky to be surrounded with babies and people who are in love all the time...I've had so many different jobs in my life but I promise you I am not leaving this one any time soon.
For a while now I have been wanting to build a baby bed out of tree branches and I finally did it! I'm so proud of myself, it was the firt time I ever built anything out of wood. Isn't it the sweetest thing you've ever seen. This sleeping beauty in my woodsy garden? I had almost cancelled this session that day because it was grey and rainy and I do use mostly natural light in the studio (it just looks soooooo much better). And in the summer I shoot half of my photo shoots outdoors. But I knew Mat was coming in from Florida only for the weekend and we wouldn't get another shot at this. So when the pouring rain thinned out a bit, we went out with a big umbrella and I took quick shots while Mat would hold it over Mila. I live on a very quiet street, but a few street walkers/neighbors stopped by enthralled by the cuteness of the spectacle. It was just such a special sight! I'm happy to hear Brooke and Mat's long distance relationship is coming to an end soon and they will be united for good since Brooke is moving to Florida next month. Long life and long love to you guys! Little Grace is 3 months here. I would say that is a rather difficult age to capture since they start to move so much more at that age. But we worked hard as a team. Daddy was right behind me trying to get a laugh out of Grace (along with me making a usual fool of myself) and we gave Grace a extra long tummy time work out so I am grateful for her efforts & daddy's. Those bright blue eyes are to melt for and...Isn't the first top pic hilarious!? I'm looking for captions for that one! Got any? Grace's mom holds a special place in my heart because she was my daughter's daycare teacher a couple years back and my babe was very attached to her. Tina has such a big heart we were all so blessed to have her care for our child and we grew very fond of her too so again it was a very special session for me.
If any of you know me well, then you'll know I am obsessed with Pinterest, and that I'm just enthralled by recycling things into crafts. I handcraft most of my skin care & household products and I'm always looking for a fun diy project to dive into. That's when I am not swamped with photo editing work which is the case most of the time....All this to say it only made sense that I started to handcraft my own baby headbands and flowers. So here are my latest creations. I've been wondering for a while how to display them in the studio and yesterday I came across this antique silver bread basket at a garage sale and it all clicked! Here is the result complete with a photo framed in the middle of beautiful princesses: Lee-Ann and baby Anabeth. What do you think? I like crafting flowers so much I think I might eventually open an Etsy store to sell them. :) The flowers are mounted on 3cm alligator clips which can be clipped on to any headband. I'm also making headbands with much smaller flowers that are permanently attached to the headbands. The clipped flowers are fun because they can be attached to different knit hats or just clipped to hair or clothing and they don't have to be tied down to same headband. I'll be giving felt flowers a try soon and also would like to make baby crows and diaper covers. Hi sweet, sweet hearts, Here is my brand new baby: My newborn photography blog. I decided to partner my website: www.lilisweetphotography.com with a blog so I can post more eye candy, more often & easily. I'll be posting all my work, from newborn to maternity, child photography & various portraits. This is my first experience with blogging. I mostly plan on keeping the text short and let the images speak on their own. Where to start? I have so much unpublished content with over 20 years of work behind me. Maybe with my last favorite session? Meet Sarah and baby Spencer. As they fall in love right in front of our eyes. Is there anything more beautiful than the connection between a mother and her newborn? I remember bathing in the sparkly wonder of my daughter's grand arrival, freshly delivered from heaven. Of course our connection has deepened and grown with time but the first days leave you in such amazement of the magical elements that have brought baby in this world. It is a piece of God you truly welcome, celebrate & cherish. If only we all remembered this every time we look at our children. |
