If any of you know me well, then you'll know I am obsessed with Pinterest, and that I'm just enthralled by recycling things into crafts. I handcraft most of my skin care & household products and I'm always looking for a fun diy project to dive into. That's when I am not swamped with photo editing work which is the case most of the time....All this to say it only made sense that I started to handcraft my own baby headbands and flowers. So here are my latest creations. I've been wondering for a while how to display them in the studio and yesterday I came across this antique silver bread basket at a garage sale and it all clicked! Here is the result complete with a photo framed in the middle of beautiful princesses: Lee-Ann and baby Anabeth. What do you think? I like crafting flowers so much I think I might eventually open an Etsy store to sell them. :) The flowers are mounted on 3cm alligator clips which can be clipped on to any headband. I'm also making headbands with much smaller flowers that are permanently attached to the headbands. The clipped flowers are fun because they can be attached to different knit hats or just clipped to hair or clothing and they don't have to be tied down to same headband. I'll be giving felt flowers a try soon and also would like to make baby crows and diaper covers.

Bless my wonderful neighbors, Christine and Olivier who turned out to be living just a block away from me! It was an honor meeting their new sweet pea, Nora, who was just a few days old at the time of the shoot. Nora was a breeze of fresh air to work with cooperating in various positions. One cuter than the other. Christine brought the watch, a family heirloom she wanted photographed with Nora (amongst other props we used). I posted the one with the watch because it is one of my favorites. I love how her mouth just relaxed in a bout of exhaustion. Such a cute little pout! The blocks spelling her name came out of my 4 year old's room. A last minute addition to the perfect shot. Nora is such a cute name too, don't you think!?
Here is another beautiful family, in one of my favorite poses. Meet Caroline, Dave and newborn: Alex.
I just love that first picture of Caroline and Alex. One of my favorites at the moment! Baby Alex was already 17 days the day of the shoot, so we didn't know how he would settle in newborn poses but he was such a charm to work with and I was able to capture some magical shots with a little patience. Thanks to his loving and easy going parents for making the whole experience magical! Here is a sneak peek of Alex's shots: This session was so amazing! Meet sweet Anabeth, daughter of firefighter, Maxime Vincent. I'll post more of their family's pics soon.

Hi sweet, sweet hearts, Here is my brand new baby: My newborn photography blog. I decided to partner my website: www.lilisweetphotography.com with a blog so I can post more eye candy, more often & easily. I'll be posting all my work, from newborn to maternity, child photography & various portraits. This is my first experience with blogging. I mostly plan on keeping the text short and let the images speak on their own. Where to start? I have so much unpublished content with over 20 years of work behind me. Maybe with my last favorite session? Meet Sarah and baby Spencer. As they fall in love right in front of our eyes. Is there anything more beautiful than the connection between a mother and her newborn? I remember bathing in the sparkly wonder of my daughter's grand arrival, freshly delivered from heaven. Of course our connection has deepened and grown with time but the first days leave you in such amazement of the magical elements that have brought baby in this world. It is a piece of God you truly welcome, celebrate & cherish. If only we all remembered this every time we look at our children. |
